Well, a few weeks ago, I celebrated my 25th birthday...and here in Central Asia of all places! I never could have guessed in my wildest dreams (even five years ago) that I would be living here, teaching ESL in such a great place!
One of the sweetest things about this birthday is that I share it with one of my dear friends that I have gotten to know over the past ten months. After a fun and small celebration at the language center during our break time (and some awesome cake!), J* and I celebrated at the park with her husband, sister, and sister-in-law (who is one of my dearest friends here). We went after I taught class...which was so fun because we hardly ever go out at night. However, since her husband came, and we had the typical "male chaperone" we enjoyed pizza and cake at the park. These dear friends gave me some sweet gifts and it was a joyous night of celebration before my "birthday twin" has her first baby! She is due in a few days :)
Here are a few pictures from our event. My friends here aren't fans of having their faces floating on the internet so I blurred them out as to respect them.
