A New Alphabet

These new endeavors in language have been both daunting and thrilling. At some points, it seems as if I am getting nowhere...at other times, it is so exciting. I am super thankful for the fact that sitting and practicing writing and memorizing letters is still new and exciting. I know that will not last forever. Right now, I have a good handle on reading and identifying a, b, d, e, f, i, n, p, q, t, v, and y....out of 34 total letters. Yikes!

There is hope in this stage knowing that I am laying a good foundation for continued language learning, including reading, as I progress. Who knew at the age of 24, I would so closely identify with a preschooler. Humbling. I am ever grateful and excited to know that these efforts will be a blessing in my new host culture!

Until next time...
