Sêran!!

Yesterday was epic. I have no other word for it. I have learned so much about my new host culture in just one awesome day! Our language center went on a picnic; we drove about 2.5 hours north out into the beautiful mountainside. The day was full of fun! We had constant Kurdish music and dancing. A *ton* of delicious food. We hopped a creek to the picnic spot and set up camp/food as soon as we arrived. We relaxed, played games, laughed, and I learned my numbers in Kurdish from about 1-100 during our game of BINGO.

It was a great break to be away from the city. Here are just a few pictures from the day. More will follow of the actually "picnicking"!

We stopped on the way to "get ice"...looks a bit different than the bags back home.
The gorgeous mountainside!
Audrey and I brought blond brownies...our students brought the rest of this yummy food!
Talking with some of the students!!

What seems disconnected from post to post, is the fluidity of life and constant flow of time. Spanning several years of my journey, I hope that in reading, you are encouraged to see real, sometimes messy life and the grace provided in Christ that sustains through it all. From one side of the globe to the other…life keeps going and God is with us!
