Seeing as Friday is my new Sunday here in Central Asia, tomorrow (Saturday) is my new Monday. I even switched my iCalendar to start each week on Saturdays. It is quite different to get used to, but they are slowly starting to feel like the beginning of my week. One main reason is because tomorrow is my first day of English classes. It will be quite formal. I will have my hair pulled back and a button down on with a long skirt. I know, very "teacher-y" of me. I have to work against the fact that I will likely be younger than many of my students. And in the morning, my first class has my landlord/next door neighbor. Awkward. Not only is he the 30-something husband to my sweet 20-year old neighbor, he built the house I live in. Funny how life goes in Central Asia.
I have been diligently prepping for my first day. I have mid-level classes...thankfully no Intro students this first time around (which are the hardest, I hear). I may be overly prepared, but better than the opposite I guess. Hoping to bring honor and glory to JC as I learn to teach my students well and serve them each lesson. Day one of my teaching career will surely have more stories to tell.
Here is a pic of my prep time in our den/office/muqtub/coffee station.
Blessings to each of you!
You can do it! Glad to see everything is going well!
