A Quick List

Well, though inconsistent, I try to keep a journal of things I am thankful for as I live life here in Central Asia.  I actually started the journal in 2009 (see above when I mentioned "inconsistent").  But this journal has been a blessing to me during the seasons when I have used it...even if it hasn't been daily.  Here is a quick list of ten things I have given Him thanks for during my soon to be 9 months of life in Central Asia!

~for my Kurdish teacher and her willingness to teach me
~for a heater to sit next to my bed in the winter & warm blankets
~for electrical tape
~my job teaching ESL and my sweet students
~that Kurds like stuffed mushrooms (which we call "American dolma")
~for my Colombian friends who import coffee and gave us peppermint syrup
~my wireless internet modem...even though I often want to complain about it
~for our neighborhood generator
~for a good Kurdish meal at the end of a long teaching day (and the dear neighbors who feed us!)
~that I can read this.... سوپاس بۆ خودا (says, thanks be to God!)
